Decorating is kicking my arse

So I suck at the blogging malarkey...my excuse is my decorating of the bathroom.  It's stripped, scraped, new 't lights installed, basecoated, stinky carpet removed, new tiles purchased.  So I haven't been a lazy mare on my week off. Going to purchase top coat and rollers today.  I had chocolate yesterday, bad me, thats the first time in 6 wks though. I'm a bit tired but I'm meeting Seana later for Nandos so I can't even have a little nap, I hope the weather holds, it absolutely pissed it down just now, but the sun is out again.  I'll have to go a wake Bri up in a bit so that'll be fun.  Hmmm need a couple of cork tiles to even out the floor in the bathroom, can you belive, B&Q don't sell them anymore, it's not like I want them for a fashion statement!  Ah well gonna try and fit in half an hour of reading before the trauma of waking my sleeping son.  Reading In the Flesh by Ethan Stone at the mo...see ya!

Monday, Monday

Just a quick one today as I'm knackered.  First day off work and I attempted to strim the back garden but broke the strimmer so now the garden is half done.  I've started stripping the wallpaper in the bathroom so that's a bit of  a mess, can't wait until its finished.  I've pulled up the crappy carpet so that's an improvement.  Trying to watch the last episode of Fringe season 3 again, but I bet I'm asleep before it ends.  Finished Dance With Me by Heidi Cullinan and I really enjoyed it.  Anyhoo off to my boudoir, xx

Lazin' on a Sunday Morning

Well it's really early in the morning here, in fact it's still dark.  I don't want to sound boring and repetitive but I was just thinking to myself how much more in control of my life I feel now that I'm getting my finances under control.  At the beginning of the year I couldn't see a way out and I was even considering suicide (shh  don't tell anyone I know), but now with a lot of hard work and some help from Brian things are looking a lot better.  I think the main reason I've been able to chip away at my debt so successfully is because I don't have a car anymore.  I didn't realise what a drain it was on my finances.  At the time when I had to get rid of the car it was like the end of the world but now I appreciate it as a blessing in disguise, mind you catching buses in the winter is a trial I did not enjoy.  I'm hoping to spend a lazy Sunday, a bit of reading, maybe a bit of housework (but I don't want to strain myself), and possibly a bit of strimming the untidy lawn! smooches xx

Holidaaaaay

Well I've finished work for 2 weeks, yay!  Did my overtime, so that's a little chip into the credit card debt.  Cooked slow cooker chili for tea, mmm, I did make it a bit hot though!  Found out why a couple of the girls were suspended, and I feel a little better, they did something stupid which I know I wouldn't do.  It was really unsettling.  No exciting new stories on LJ sadly, bigbang was a little disappointing this year too.  I wish I could write fiction.  Today I think I will list some of the things I want.
1. a Macbook
2. A holiday, New York, San Francisco, Hawaii (never said I was cheap).
3. Some new ebooks

I think out of the list I'm most likely to get some new ebooks!!

Well I'm really tired and I guess I could go for an early night.  Have fun now x

Another day another £35 ish

Well another day at work over, some poor chap got marched out by the big cheese, wonder what he did that was so terrible, hope he's ok.  Managed to finish most of my work before my 2 week break (woohoo) just 5 hrs overtime to go then no work for 2 wks!  Was daydreaming on the bus and managed to miss my stop, I'm an idiot.  I was actually thinking about the bloke down the road that I discovered in my garden filching my apples on Sunday morning.  Now I don't want some random man in my back garden, particularly as I live alone and value my privacy, especially when I went out to feed the cat in my t-shirt I wear to bed, being accosted was a trifle disturbing.  I must have a word with him when  next see him and tell him to keep the hell out of my garden.  It's a bloody cheek really - I would never go into anyone elses back garden and steal their apples, I might get a trespassers will be prosecuted sign.  My diet has been bad this week, what with Brian being down.  Pizza, Nandos and I had some biscuits today too. Must get back on the straight and narrow, want to get in my Hilfiger jeans by Christmas.

Anyway I must check out some other blogs, especially as mine is just a glorified diary, plus I'd like to finish my book tonight too.  Laters x  

Take 2

I forgot to mention that I got absolutely soaked on the way to work today.  My coat is not waterproof (I think it may be showerproof) for some reason my left breast was soaked it looked like I had a lactation problem, I had to dry my top under the hand dryer.  Also there are so many new rules and regs at work my brain cannot take it all in.  I have to make room for the new stuff by losing some of the old stuff.  In a minute I'm going to forget how to dress myself...I'll end up going to work with my pants on my head.

Thursday

So much for posting everyday...I'm rubbish.  Well work wasn't too bad today.  We discussed sending ducks to Jared and Jensen and how we could dress them up as the boys, maybe a Misha duck too.  The Misha duck would be wearing a trenchcoat and the Jared duck would have floppy hair and sideburns and ridiculously long legs.  The Jensen duck would just have to be really pretty and have green eyes and be shirtless (in my mind Jensen is always shirtless).  I know I shouldn't objectify him but as we're never going to meet and I'm too lazy to stalk anyone, where's the harm?  My baby (ie 24 year old son) is going back to Cardiff tomorrow :( but he has to see his girlfriend, I guess I'm just going to have to accept I'm never going to be the most important woman in his life anymore :(.  Well I'm going to go off now and read Bear, Otter and the Kid, it seems good so far, I have shed the odd tear.  Also bargain, after tomorrow and 5 hrs overtime on Saturday I have 2 weeks off.  One last thing, I've nearly paid off my overdraft, I'm hoping to clear the final amount this month then  I just have to clear my credit card and I'll be back on the straight and narrow.  I really hope by Christmas 2012 I'll be solvent again.  Thats all folks.  off for a vimto and a good novel!

Ruby Tuesday

Damn, I missed posting on Monday, and I could have had Monday, Monday as the title, ah well maybe next week.  What about all those rioters eh?  What a bunch of losers, it makes me ashamed to be British.  They should go out and get a job, it's about time the government addressed the benefit situation and stopped paying it for such long periods of time, there are whole families that have never worked and are living off me as a tax payer.  Now I don't want to get all right wing but if I have to work for a living, in a job I don't particularly like then why shouldn't they? Anyway, off my soapbox.  I did operation cup of tea, I hope everyone else did too.  Watching the last couple of episodes of Fringe, what a weird program.  Just ordered my shopping online from Tesco, thank God for that now that I don't have a car (because I can't afford one even though I bloomin' well work for a living).  Anyway off for a bit of light reading before bed!

Sunday

Today it's supposed to piss it down, well it hasn't yet but it's certainly threatening to.  I really should mow the lawn, but I can't be arsed, it's my one day off work so I'm going to be lazy.  Reading some free fiction I found via recs on the_slash_pile seems like the way to go.  I'm enjoying The End of the World by Poppendol at the mo.  Spoke to my son and he's going to come down in a couple of weeks so that's something to look forward to.  He's in Cardiff and when I spoke to him on the phone it was absolutely emptying down there.  When he comes down we'll have to try out the new Nando's in town.  Anyhoo watched Super 8, it was ok, a bit like an adult ET, not brilliant though.  My mac was playing up today, kept rebooting itself.  Seems ok at the mo, I would hate for it to die, it's my prized possession.   Going to chill for a few hours then iron my clothes for work, woohoo.

Saturday

So, I've been to work, five hours overtime under my belt, therefore more money to help pay off my overdraft.  A crappy call that I was dreading making kind of sorted itself out, phew, I worried last night over nothing.  The seagulls that nest on the roof of my work were in fine voice today.  They had babies earlier on this year and it's made them very feisty and noisy!!  Sausages for dinner, which I really enjoyed, as I have been dieting this was a rare treat.  Was going to go into town after work to get a new mac but I couldn't be arsed.  The reason I need a new mac is because the one I have leaks.  I found this out on Wednesday when it bucketed down and by the time I got to work I was soaked.  Particularly my left breast which made it look like I'd been lactating, not a good look for work!! I'm allowed back in the book club, yay.  Now I'm off  to watch Super 8.  Laters xx

Today

Well, today wasn't the best day ever, but it was far from the worst either.  Work sucked but then it always does, it's a good job I have some great work mates which makes up for the rest of the crap.  Then I get suspended from a website for not posting enough, ah well, that's a fair cop, I guess.  I always wanted to keep a diary but I never got round to it, so this is my belated attempt.  Anyhow, I've been on a diet for 3 weeks, not sure how much weight I have lost as I don't own scales, but I know it's a bit as I can fit into some smaller size trousers - so go me!! I have signed up for an OU course so I'm both looking forward to and dreading this starting, it's been a fair few years since I had to use my brain in any sort of academic way.  Hopefully I'll be able to cope.  On the positive side, I have been working really hard and doing a lot of overtime trying to clear some debts, and I have nearly cleared my overdraft, I think at the end of this month it will be no more, then I can concentrate on my pesky credit card.  I'll tell you one thing, once I am debt free I am never allowing myself to get into debt again!
